God leads us if we chose. He really does! I have lived a life walking without God. I have walked a life where going to church was something I enjoyed but the rest of the week it was a free-for-all, so to speak. Now, He is leading more each day and because of it I walk in confidence, freedom and His sight, not mine.
In order for us to allow someone to lead we must give up something of ourselves to properly follow. My confidence was in myself. Yes, we should have confidence in ourselves but God asks that we go to Him with all things. When we surrender plans, concerns, our day even, it is putting faith to work and being confident in God.
This is difficult to do when we are so used to planning, solving and just doing what appears to be the way to go. This is good for us to do (planning, solving…)but we should do it with God in the lead.
Philippians 3:7-9:
“But whatever was to my profit, I now considered lost for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things, and I consider them them rubbish, that I may gain Christ, and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through the faith in Christ, the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.“
We can’t gain coinfidence in God unless we are exercising our Faith.
The more we give to God, the more we gain and we can truly live in His righteousness, given to us by Faith in Him.
As Paul found out living a life for Jesus was far more greater than the things (rubbish as he put it) he had before he sought a life for Christ.
Trust and give God the lead of your life! He will not disappoint. As mentioned, I have lived without God, half in and half out or as some say on the fence and now I daily put my trust in Him! Some days are hard, but as in any relationship it takes time, commitment, understanding and trust.
Strength train….spend 5 minutes a day, reading one verse, pray and give thanks….you don’t lose that time…you gain.
Don’t know God? Ask Him into your heart. John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Take a step of faith, be confident that God will meet you right where you are.
